Somizi Buyani Mhlongo-Motaung (born 23 December 1972) is a South African actor, media personality, and choreographer. In 1992, he appeared in the musical and political film, Sarafina! which gained him prominence. Mhlongo became a lead choreographer for numerous shows and events, including the opening and closing ceremonies for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, and the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
In November 2020 the former “Idols SA” judge took to Instagram to announce to his three million followers that the cookbook titled, ‘Dinner at Somizi’s – I am not a chef’ is now available for pre-order. The cookbook is inspired by his family’s cooking and celebrates food that is proudly South Africa.
When he announced that his cookbook is out there were people who were already skeptical as some of them didn’t have some nice things to say to him. But not all of them were like that as some of them were very much interested as to where can they get the cookbook.
But as we know that people on social media don’t forget, and they will always find a way to make fun of other people by bringing old things back into the picture. Just when people thought they have moved on and forgot about the cookbook thing.
A lady on Twitter by the name of Puleng brought it back when she took to her social media account and shared that she bought Somizi’s cookbook and returned it for a full refund because it had Mogodu and blue cheese recipe, she continues to say she knew that cookbook It’s not for her. And this made people say all those funny things about Somizi and his cookbook.
