Former Generation’s actress and buinesswoman, Nonhle Thema, has started the year on a bad note as she has lost her father.
Nonhle is the daughter of veteran actress who use to act on Muvhango as Thandaza Mukwevho’s mom, Cynthia Shange. Her role on Muvhango was portraying “MaNkosi”.
I must say, Nonhle is very fortunate to be born in the family of the thespians as her late father was an actor too.
Sadly, as the year just began, her father who is a renowned author and actor Derrick Thema has passed on.
The actress took to social media to share the sad news and paid a tribute to her “King”.
She wrote on Instagram and defined Derrick Thema as one of a kind. “I Love you Forever, a King. Rest easy daddy, I got you say hello to the rest of the Thema family for me, I love them all,” wrote Nonhle on her Instagram page.
Also in another post, she expressed her gratitude to her father for the amazing upbringing he gave to her and her siblings.
She proclaimed her love towards him and wished him to rest well in heaven.
In 1999, Thema who is an established journalist and writer, published his first book, “Kortboy: A Sophiatown Legend.
He also starred in the ’80s blockbuster comedy film “The God’s Must Be Crazy”.
Thrlay film which was written, produced and directed by Jamie Uys, broke box office records when it was first released in cinemas as it became the most financially successful release in the history of South Africa’s film industry.
