Somizi Buyani Mhlongo Motaung is a recognized South African actor, media personality and choreographer. He is the son of the late veteran actress Mary Thwala and later comedian Ndaba Mhlongo. Through the influence of his parents, he became exposed to the entertainment scene at a young age. He appeared on the musical and political film Sarafina in 1992 ,which gained him prominence.

He is also known for being one of the judges on Idols SA reality competition show on Mzansi Magic. He is one of the most loved entertainers in the country.
