At one point in Mzansi, Big Nuz was the biggest thing in music but things changed and the group split up but it seems they have patched things up and reunited.
Big Nuz which consists of Mampintsha, Danger and the late R Mashesha who passed away in 2015 fell apart when Mampintsha started his own record label West Ink. The famous group were signed to DJ Tira’s Afrotainment record label.
Speaking to Sunday Sun, DJ Tira confirmed that the group is back and plans are underway on how the group will be re-introduced.
“We can’t shy away from the fact that people love the group and its music. So, we decided to bring it back.”
Big Nuz was confirmed as no longer being a part of Afrotainment in 2018 and Tira told Sunday Sun they have not yet decided which label the group will be under.
Danger also confirmed that he and Mampintsha are back to working together.
“We started this group as brothers. We can’t give up like that. Big Nuz represented uMlazi and kwaito fans. We have to keep the legacy of the group and to respect R Mashesha on by continuing with the job even after he passed on.”
It’s good to see the two members back on good terms especially after their failed performance at popular year-end function Fact Durban Rocks on New Year’s Eve, which Danger blamed Mampintsha for not happening.
