Law enforcement officials had a busy night in Cape Town monitoring a petrol station in Muizenberg after protesters threatened to burn it.
Spokesperson Wayne Dyason said three vehicles and part of a building were some of the things destroyed overnight by the group.
“Attacks on private property have continued for a second successive night in Capricorn‚ Muizenberg. Protesters targeted the New World Foundation building setting three vehicles alight and petrol bombed part of the building‚” Dyason said.
“An adult male on the premises sustained minor burns and two females were roughed up by the crowd. SAPS. law enforcement and Metro Police currently protecting the Capricorn shopping centre where it is said the crowd will target the petrol station.”
No arrests have been made.
